A convicted murderer had his probation violation hearing postponed before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge LaZette Ringgold-Kirksey on Feb. 27.
According to the Maryland Judiciary website, in October 2011, defendant Pierre Harris was found guilty of his involvement in a non-fatal shooting that occurred on Sept. 26, 2009
Previously, Harris, 32, Harris was sentenced to 15 years, suspending all but five years with three years of supervised probation for the use of a handgun in committing a crime; and a consecutive sentence of 20 years, suspending all but ten years, and three years of supervised probation for second-degree murder.
During Monday’s proceedings, defense attorney Brandon Patterson and the prosecution requested more time to prepare for Harris’ hearing due to a lack of concordant reports between the two parties.
Judge Ringgold-Kirksey granted a brief postponement for the counsel to prepare for the sentencing hearing. Harris’ next hearing is rescheduled for March 28.
