Northeast District shooting detectives for the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) are investigating the shooting of a 67-year-old man on Feb. 15.

On Wednesday, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of Northway Drive for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening graze gunshot wound to his torso. Medics were called, however the victim refused medical attention.

Detectives believe a possible motive for this incident is robbery. Upon further investigation, investigators have determined that the victim’s injuries were not from ballistic penetration but from shrapnel from a metal fence post nearby.

The case has been downgraded to assault by shooting at and attempted armed robbery.
