Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin reported on Nov. 2 that City Circuit Court medical examiners could not reach a decision on the initial competency of a defendant charged with attempted murder.
It was recommended that defendant Ahmaud Molden undergo further evaluation by the Department of Health.
The defendant faces charges of first and second-degree attempted murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, first and second-degree assault, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, and discharging firearms all in connection to an incident that occurred on July 10, 2022.
Judge Raisin signed an order for an extended inpatient evaluation and said they would check back in on Jan. 26, 2023.
Moulden is represented by attorney Granville Templeton.
