Homicide Defendant Rejects Plea for Two Life Sentences

On Oct. 3, a homicide defendant rejected a plea of two life sentences before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Devin Curry, 17, is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, first-degree attempted murder, and possession of a firearm as a minor in connection to an incident on April 14. 

Curry and his defense attorney Brian Levy, rejected a plea of life, suspending all but 60 years, for first-degree murder; 20 years with the first five years without parole for use of a firearm during a felony violent crime; and life, suspending all but 60 years, for first-degree attempted murder. The charges are set to run concurrently. 

Curry’s trial is scheduled for April 11, 2023.
