Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn granted a two-week postponement in the case of attempted homicide defendant Lamont Wood to give the prosecution time to contact witnesses.
During reception court on Aug. 17, the prosecution requested the brief postponement, which will bring Wood’s case back to reception court on Aug. 31.
The defendant’s competency to stand trial has been in question since August 2019 when he was first declared incompetent. Wood, who faces attempted murder, assault, and multiple firearms charges, remained in mental health court before Judge Gale Rasin until he was found competent to stand trial last December.
Wood is represented by defense attorney Andrea Jaskulsky.
