Trial Date Set for Man Charged in Random Road Homicide

A homicide defendant was found competent to stand trial and criminally responsible without a reasonable doubt by Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin, following a request for a medical evaluation by their attorney.

In June, defense attorney William Buie III filed a request for a not criminally responsible (NCR) evaluation for his client Dorrell Jackson, 26.

Jackson is charged with first-degree murder, the use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, and use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure in the death of 21-year-old Amir Whyee in December 2021.

According to court documents, police were called to the 500 block of Random Road on Dec. 1, 2021. They found Whyee, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Jackson’s trial is set to begin on Aug. 26.
