A Baltimore man charged with manslaughter rejected a plea offer of 5 years during his hearing on Aug. 1.

Jerome Faulkner, 39, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and child neglect in connection to an incident on Oct. 2, 2020.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn listened as the prosecutor offered Faulkner a plea of 10 years suspending all but 5 years with 3 years supervised probation for involuntary manslaughter.

Faulkner declined the plea, stating that he wanted to speak with his attorney, Amanda Savage, who was not present and had provided Faulkner with another attorney for his hearing.

Faulkner’s next hearing is scheduled on Aug. 29 to provide more time for his attorney to discuss a plea and make any counter offers.
