Attempted Murder Defendant Rejects 30-Year Plea

A 37-year-old Baltimore man accused of attempted murder rejected a plea offer for 30 years on June 21 before Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Davin Watson is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm during a violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to an incident that occurred on Sept. 17, 2021.

Judge Melissa M. Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life suspending all but 30 years with five years on probation for attempted first-degree murder and five years without the possibility of parole for use of a firearm during a violent crime. The charges are set to run concurrently.

Under the plea, the defendant must stay away from the victim and register as a gun offender.

Watson is being represented by Arthur McGreevy.

Watson’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 26 and is expected to last for three days. Judge Lynn Stewart Mays will preside over the trial.
