Homicide defendant Martinez Armstrong, who was initially scheduled for trial in June, is now scheduled for trial in January 2023 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Armstrong is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to the death of 28-year-old Michael Montgomery on June 11, 2020.

On June 14, Judge Phinn listened as counsel came to an agreement on a trial date.

Armstrong was represented by defense attorney Deborah Warner-Dennis.

According to CBS Baltimore, Armstrong allegedly shot and killed Michael Montgomery on the 3700 block of Gelston Avenue on June 11, 2020. Evidence later led police to Armstrong, who was arrested nearly a year later on May 5, 2021, on the 4700 block of Mt. Hope Drive.

Armstrong’s trial is scheduled for Jan. 9, 2023.
