A 16-year-old homicide defendant rejected June 10 a plea offer for life before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Elijah Shannon is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, attempted armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection to an incident with his co-defendant Deonte Marvin Harris that occurred on Jan. 24.

The prosecutor presented the plea of life for first-degree murder and a concurrent sentence of 20 years for use of a firearm during a violent crime.

Shannon and his defense attorney Warren Brown rejected the plea.

Shannon’s trial has been set for July 7.
