A Baltimore woman allegedly involved in a non-fatal shooting rejected a plea of five years with three years probation on March 31 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn

The 38-year-old defendant is charged with first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm during a violent crime, discharging firearms, having a handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun on her person, having a loaded handgun on her person, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, and malicious destruction to property greater than $1000 in connection to an incident on Feb. 13, 2021.

On Thursday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of 10 years, suspending all but five years, with three years probation for first-degree assault, and a concurrent five years for use of a firearm during a violent crime without the possibility of parole.

Under the plea, the defendant must also stay away from the victim.

The defendant and her defense attorney, Marci Johnson, rejected the plea, and her trial is scheduled for Aug. 16.
