The case of a 19-year-old man charged with the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend is likely to go to trial next year in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
During reception court on March 21, defense attorneys Josh Insley nor Donald Wright were not present on behalf of attempted homicide defendant Dorian Milstred, who is facing charges of attempted murder and assault in addition to five weapons charges.
The prosecution requested the case return to reception court in August when counsel would determine a trial date for some time in 2023.
The judge approved the request, scheduling Milstred to return to court on Aug. 22.
According to the Baltimore Police Department, Milstred allegedly shot a 19-year-old woman, later identified as his ex-girlfriend, in September 2021 on the 2700 block of Atkinson Street. Police found the victim around midnight with a grazed gunshot wound to her right ear.
