A Baltimore man charged with first-degree murder received a new trial date in November on Feb. 22 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Shae-Von Edward, 23, is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, having a handgun in a vehicle, and having a handgun on his person in connection to a double shooting from June 2, 2020.
During reception court on Tuesday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life suspending all but 50 years with five years of probation for first-degree murder.
According to CBS Baltimore, on June 2, 2020, officers were called to the 5600 block of Haddon Avenue for reports of shots being fired. They found 51-year-old Roderick Daniels and a 35-year-old unidentified man suffering from gunshots.
The medics took Daniels to Sinai hospital, where he died shortly after, while the second victim was treated for his injury.
Edward’s trial is scheduled for Nov. 15.
