A 38-year-old man allegedly involved in a non-fatal shooting rejected a plea of 10 years with three years probation and five years without parole on Jan. 27 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Bryant Foster is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a violent crime, and reckless endangerment in connection to an incident on Sept. 4, 2021.
During reception court on Thursday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of 20 years suspending all but 10 years with three years probation for attempted first-degree murder and five years without parole for use of a firearm during a violent crime. The charges are set to run concurrently.
Foster and his defense attorney, Deonna Hayes, rejected the plea offer.
According to a news release, on Sept. 4, 2021, at approximately 8:15 p.m. officers were called to the 1000 block of Brantley Avenue for a shot spotter alert where they found a 39-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
Foster’s trial is scheduled for June 15 with Judge Gregory Sampson.
