Baltimore Man Accused of Killing 1, Injuring Another Has Trial Scheduled for October

A 20-year-old Baltimore man who is accused of killing one man and injuring another victim rejected a plea offer on Jan. 6 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn

D’Angelo Woodrun is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, first-degree attempted murder, conspiracy to first-degree murder, and possession of a firearm as a minor in connection to an incident on May 23, 2021. 

Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life for first-degree murder, 20 years for a use of a firearm during a violent crime, and 10 years for conspiracy to first-degree murder during reception court on Thursday. The charges are set to run concurrently. 

According to the Baltimore Sun, on May 23, 2021, officers responded to a report of a shooting and found 39-year-old Tayvon Kenan unresponsive as well as a 50-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound on the 1500 block of Carswell Street. The men were transported to the hospital, where Kenan later died.

Woodrun’s trial is scheduled for Oct. 3.
