A 5-year-old girl was accidentally shot by her 6-year-old brother on Jan. 1 after he allegedly got ahold of their father’s gun.
Shortly before 9 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Baltimore Police Department officers were called to the 1600 block of N. Pulaski Street and found a girl with a graze gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury, police said.
A news release states that police learned the girl was accidentally shot by her older brother using their father’s gun, which was recovered. The father was also at the scene, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
