Prosecution Indefinitely Postpones Attempted Murder Defendant’s Case

The prosecution told Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Copeland Dec. 13 that an attempted murder defendant’s case was being placed on the STET docket.

Ikeara Baker is charged with attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree, attempted second-degree murder, assault in the first and second-degree, conspiracy to commit assault int he first and degree, reckless endangerment, firearm use during a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm during a felony violent crime, discharging a gun in the city of Baltimore, making false statements to an officer and accessory after the fact.

On Monday, the prosecutor told Judge Copeland that the STET, which would make the case inactive for a period of time, dismissing it after successful completion. The STET will make Baker’s case inactive for 3 years. The prosecution did not require any conditions.

Baker, 28, accepted the STET offer.

Baltimore Witness previously reported that Baker us charged in connection to a non-fatal shooting on Feb. 15. In June, she rejected a plea deal from the prosecution.
