A homicide defendant missed his hearing in mental health court on Oct. 27 because he had a trial in another county.
Singelton Duppins, 20, is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree assault, firearm use in the commission of a crime, and firearm possession as a minor for the death of Graham Blake on Feb. 28, 2020, on the 2500 block of Gibbons Avenue.
Duppins was scheduled to appear in mental health court to assess his competency finding.
Neither Judge Gale Rasin nor Duppins’ defense attorney, Landon White, knew that he had another trial scheduled on Wednesday.
Duppins is charged in Anne Arundel County with two counts of second-degree assault from an incident on Nov. 15, 2020, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
On Wednesday, White filed for Duppins to receive an extended mental health evaluation, and the matter was reset for Nov. 3.
