Two co-defendants accused of murdering an MTA bus driver had a trial date set during reception court on Oct. 19.
Cameron Silcott, 25, and Nichelle Greene, 30, are both charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in the commission of a crime, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Silcott and Greene allegedly shot Marcus Parks Sr. on Oct. 8, 2020. According to CBS Baltimore, they were arguing with Parks over a bus payment before grabbing his backpack and running off the bus. Parks was chasing them down East Fayette Street when Silcott allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot Parks multiple times.
Silcott’s defense attorney, Janine Meckler, rejected a plea of life for first-degree murder and 20 years for firearm use in the commission of a crime, to be served concurrently. Meckler was also standing in for Greene’s defense attorney, Gary Berstein.
Green was not offered a plea Wednesday.
Green and Silcott will be tried together on May 2, 2022.
