Non-Fatal Shooting Defendant Released on Own Recognizance

Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Philip S. Jackson released a non-fatal shooting defendant on his own recognizance on Sept. 8, following counsels’ statements that the case was going to be dismissed.

During Wednesday’s bail review hearing, defense attorney Brian Mobley and the prosecution informed Judge Jackson that this particular case against the 24-year-old man was going to be dismissed after a global resolution was reached in his other cases.

The dismissed case included charges of illegal possession of a firearm and having a handgun on his person. The defendant’s other cases also involved handgun charges as well as drug charges.

Mobley said his client will receive a suspended sentence at a later date. The defendant is scheduled for reception court on Sept. 17.
