Judge Postpones Domestic Dispute Shooting Case

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K Copeland granted a postponement in a family dispute shooting case on Oct.13 for an absent defense attorney.

The defendant, Craig Williams Jr, 51 is charged with attempted first-and-attempted second degree murder, assault first-degree, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a regulated firearm and handgun on person.

According to charging documents, on Dec, 4, 2025 at approximately 12:50 a.m. officers responded to the 3500 block of Liberty Heights Avenue for a report of a woman who was shot.

Upon arrival police located the victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the stomach and right side. She was treated by medics and transported to Sinai Hospital. There she allegedly told detectives Williams was the one who shot at her. She also acknowledged that she was arguing with him and before the shooting.

Meanwhile, on a nearby porch several children stated their mother was shot during an argument with their baby father allegedly identified as the defendant when a gun went off.

The defense attorney was unavailable due to scheduling conflicts.

Trial is rescheduled for Dec 7.
