A jury acquitted an attempted murder defendant on 14 charges on Sept. 14.
Denntae Hall, 36, was tried for allegedly shooting of his former foster brother on Jan. 25 inside Hall’s home on the 5000 block of Pembridge Avenue. During the incident, Hall allegedly fired a weapon at his foster brother. The brother was not struck by a bullet.
He was found not guilty of first-and-second-degree assault, first-and-second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, resisting arrest and multiple gun offenses in connection to an incident that took place earlier this year. Hall was also acquitted of Illegal possession of ammo charges.
According to charging documents, Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to a call where they found an individual that had blood dripping from the victim’s face. The victim’s eye was also swollen shut.
Police also found more blood stains leading up to the home and inside.
This is where they also find Hall and recovered two handguns on the counter, including a Desert Eagle .45 Caliber with two live .45 caliber bullets and a .357 Magnum Revolver which was not loaded.
As officers were escorting the defendant to the patrol car, Hall became defensive and kicked two of the officers, one in the chest and one in the back.
Officers also recovered one .45 caliber casing and a broken glass bottle from the home.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan C. Lazerow presided over the trial.
