The attempted murder trial of Da’Yawn Ford was scheduled in an Aug. 3 reception court hearing before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Copeland.
Ford, 19, is charged with multiple counts of first- and second-degree attempted murder, assault, and various firearms charges in connection to a June 6, 2025 shooting on the 800 block of S. Broadway Street. The exact number of victims is unknown.
According to charging documents, officers responding to S. Broadway Street located an 18-year-old victim suffering a gunshot wound to her left arm. Shortly after she was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital, another victim walked into the facility with a gunshot wound to his right arm. He told officers he was shot in the Fells Point neighborhood
Officers located two crime scenes, one on the 800 block of S. Broadway Street and another approximately a block away on the 1700 block of Thames Street. Projectiles, four bottles, and a black hoodie were recovered on S. Broadway Street, while 21 9mm shell casings were recovered at Thames Street.
CitiWatch footage recovered during the investigation allegedly captures a Black male wearing a white tank top and black pants being assaulted by four or five other Black males.
Charging documents state that the perpetrators fled the area after assaulting a victim. Then his associates began chasing the initial attackers. Video footage allegedly captures two shooters stop and produce semi-automatic handguns before firing at others.
Prior to the shooting, a witness allegedly saw a group of unidentified males jump another male. Moments later the witness heard gunshots who informed officers that this incident involved recent graduates of Forest Park High School. Detectives then accessed the 2025 Forest Park High School graduation video on YouTube.
While reviewing the video, detectives found someone matching the description of the suspect. School officials identified that person said to be Da’Yawn Ford. An officer from Baltimore County also identified the suspect seen in video footage as matching Ford from his involvement in a 2023 incident.
His trial is set to begin Oct. 20 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Charles J. Peters.
