A jury in Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffery M. Geller‘s courtroom found 29-year-old DeWitt Jackson guilty on all counts July 8 in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Bryan Stansbury during a 2025 home invasion.
Jackson was convicted Wednesday of two counts of first-degree murder, firearm use in the commission of a felony violent crime, home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, second-degree arson, conspiracy to commit second-degree arson, and possessing a firearm while committing a felony or crime of violence.
According to prosecutors, Jackson and an alleged accomplice traveled to Stansbury’s residence located on the 1100 block of Quantril Way on Dec. 10, 2025, where they waited outside the home before carrying out the attack.
The prosecution alleged the two men remained on the front porch until the door opened, at which point one of the suspects forced entry into the residence. Prosecutors said Jackson became involved in a physical confrontation with Stansbury near the front doorway before fatally shooting him in the head.
After the shooting, prosecutors alleged Jackson and the second suspect fled the scene in a white Ford Explorer. The prosecution also alleged the vehicle was later taken to Clifton Park, where the pair attempted to burn it in an effort to destroy evidence. The jury found Jackson guilty on every charge submitted. His sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 24 before Judge Geller.
