The jury trial of 27-year-old Freddie Pritchett, was postponed on, Feb. 24, court officials confirmed.
Court scheduling shows that the case, which was originally scheduled to be heard by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan C. Lazerow, will proceed on, Feb. 25.
Pritchett is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault, and four firearm offenses, for his alleged involvement in a July 27, 2023 double shooting that left a woman injured and 34-year-old Cordy Shaw dead.
According to charging documents, surveillance cameras in the area of the shooting captured Pritchett trailing Shaw into his home on the 1600 block of Delano Court before shots were fired. Shortly after, Pritchett was reportedly seen exiting the residence with a gun in his right hand. Witnesses later pointed to Pritchett as the alleged perpetrator.
Court records show that Pritchett’s defense attorney Michael Tomko, had submitted a motion last September to dismiss the case, claiming that evidence was obtained unlawfully and that the identification methods employed by investigators were improperly suggestive.
Judge Lazerow is set to preside over tomorrow’s hearing.
