A suspect charged in three separate criminal cases accepted a plea offer before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry G. Williams on Oct. 23.
Marquist Peters, 24, previously rejected a plea offer of life, suspending all but 65 years, for all three cases during a July 10 pre-trial conference hearing. However, after reconsideration, he accepted the Oct. 23 offer, agreeing to plead guilty in all three cases.
Peters is charged in three non-fatal shootings, one of which investigators believe was an armed robbery attempt. One shooting occurred Feb. 4 on the 900 block of N. Eden Street. Just three weeks later, on Feb. 25, a 25-year-old male victim was shot on the 3300 block of Greenmount Avenue. The armed robbery attempt occurred the same day, according to court documents..
After accepting the Oct. 23 offer, Peters is set to serve an aggregate sentence of life, suspending all but 30 years in jail. Upon release, he will serve five years of supervised probation. In total, Peters pleaded guilty to two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony crime of violence, and armed robbery.
Judge Barry G. Williams formalized the sentencing terms in open court, bringing resolution to all three criminal cases.
