Counsel for Noah Diggs, 18, and his co-defendant, an unnamed 17-year old female, appeared in court on Sept. 19 to schedule a hearing to join their clients’ cases.

Diggs and his teenaged co-defendant are charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, and multiple firearm violations for allegedly shooting Melvin White, 55, on the 3000 block of Edmondson Avenue last February.

Baltimore Police responding to the scene at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Feb. 3, 2024 found White unresponsive on the front porch, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

White was pronounced dead on scene. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the left shoulder.

On Aug. 29, Diggs and his attorneys received a plea offer from the prosecution consisting of a life sentence, suspending all but 40 years, the first five to be served without parole. Per the terms of the offer, Diggs would also be required to register to the Maryland Gun Offender Registry. Diggs proceeded to reject this offer.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland set a motion hearing date for Oct. 21  before Judge Jeffrey M. Geller.
