Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled the trial of Jevon McDonald during a reception court hearing on July 7.
McDonald, 38, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and related firearm charges in connection to a non-fatal shooting on the 2200 block of St. Cloud Avenue on March 4.
According to police documents, McDonald and the victim were arguing about money when McDonald allegedly pulled out a .22 caliber handgun and shot the victim in the left leg and then struck him in the head before leaving the area.
The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he positively identified McDonald as the shooter from a photograph. The defendant was arrested the same day.
McDonald’s trial is scheduled to start on Sept. 8 before Judge Yvette M. Bryant.
