President’s Day Shooter Found Guilty on All Charges

A jury found Michael Armstrong, 28, guilty of attempted first- and second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and eight firearms charges in reference to a shooting incident that occurred Feb. 19, 2024, in the 5900 block of Plumer Avenue. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge LaZette Ringgold-Kirksey presided over the hearing.

Investigators recovered video surveillance and home monitoring footage from the area of the scene that allegedly captured Armstrong driving up to a woman’s car and emptying his gun into the vehicle. As he fled, he reportedly rammed the woman’s car, causing it to overturn.

Witnesses positively identified Armstrong through photographic arrays, and DNA evidence and tracking technology placed Armstrong at the crime scene.

Defense attorney Augustine Okeke objected continuously in attempts to strike the prosecution’s evidence. However, the jury concluded deliberations in little over an hour.
