Scheduling conflicts hindered setting a trial date for attempted murder defendant Juan Jumal Foster, 44, in a May 2 hearing before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland
Defense attorney Jennifer Brady on behalf of her witnesses requested a trial date in either late September or early October.
“I just don’t know why we can’t agree on the date,” the prosecution said.
Foster is charged for attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and related firearm violations in connection to a May 11, 2022 shooting incident. .
According to charging documents, Foster and his co-defendant, Amber Robinson Bijou, are being tried for allegedly attempting to murder the father of Bijou’s children in the 3800 block of Tivoly Avenue. Bijou and Foster were allegedly having an affair and planned to shoot the victim, with whom Bijou was in a committed relationship.
Foster and Bijou are being tried separately.
Judge Copeland ordered parties to return to reception court May 8 to decide a trial date.
