Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled a July 28 jury trial for 23-year-old Shaun Bullock Jr. on March 7.
Bullock and his defense attorney, Andre Mahasa, are scheduled for a 3-day jury trial regarding the murder of 5-year old Nivea Anderson, whose body exhibited a continued history of brutal child abuse.
According to charging documents, the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) received a report on Nov. 15, 2021, of an unconscious child at a residence on the 2800 block of Pelham Avenue. Officers located Anderson with visible blunt force trauma wounds and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Bullock is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury, and child abuse of a child under 18.
On March 3, Bullock rejected a plea offer of life in prison, suspending all but 20 to 30 years, with five years probation.
If found guilty by a jury, Bullock could potentially be sentenced to life imprisonment.
