On Feb. 20, at approximately 11:07 a.m., Central District patrol officers responded to the Pleasant View Gardens senior apartments at 110 North Central Avenue to investigate a shooting inside a senior living facility.
Upon arrival, officers located two male victims inside the building suffering from gunshot wounds. Clyde Barnes, a 79-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, a 72-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
SWAT members conducted a sweep of the building and located the suspect, 65-year-old Norman Waker, a male resident of the facility.
