Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland postponed 32-year-old attempted murder defendant Dionte Cain’s jury trial on Feb. 18 after he rejected a plea deal.
He is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to armed robbery, assault in the first-degree, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and reckless endangerment, as well as related firearm charges for a non-fatal shooting incident.
The prosecution offered a plea deal of 30 years, suspending time served, and a three-year no contact order with the victim.
Defense attorney Natalie A.Finegar rejected the plea offer on behalf of her client.
Caine’s jury trial was rescheduled to April 28 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge John A. Howard.
