Jury selection for the murder trial of Tyrell Williams began before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on Dec. 4.
Williams was detained on March 18 at a home on the 1700 block of East 25th Street after allegedly killing 25-year-old Craig Hunter in East Baltimore. Williams was 42 at the time of the incident. The shooting occurred at approximately 12:03 a.m. on April 14, 2023, and Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams was charged with first- and second-degree murder, assault and handgun violations.
