By authority of Judges Lawrence R. Daniels and Melissa K. Copeland of the Baltimore City Circuit Court, a postponement was granted to a murder suspect’s defense anticipating information from a mental health expert about the suspect’s competence.

Alan Geslicki, 33, is accused of  first-degree child abuse murder, severe first-degree child abuse, the use of deadly weapon with intent to injure, and first-degree murder.

The murder occurred on Jan 23 on the 2000 block of Deering Avenue where six-year-old Seron O’Neal was found stabbed to death in her home. Geslicki was the boyfriend of O’Neal’s mother at the time.

Geslicki’s defense attorney Koryn High requested a postponement from Judge Daniels for what was described as failed communication with the court’s forensics office. High said she has tried to contact them since June 26, and they have not responded.

High said she needs more time to review the competency results and prepare for prosecution rebuttals.

Judge Daniels sent the case to Judge Copeland where she accepted the postponement. The new trial date is set for Feb. 10 2025. The trial is expected to last five days.
