Non-Fatal Shooting

A non-fatal shooting defendant went before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland Aug. 7 in order to schedule his trial.
Dyrin Harrell, 27, is charged with firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a rapid-fire trigger activator, having a detached magazine with over 10 rounds, having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in his vehicle, illegal possession of ammunition and firing and discharging a gun in Baltimore City in connection to an April 3 incident.
Harrell was offered a plea deal of 15 years, suspending all but five years without the possibility of parole and he would also have to register as a gun offender upon release. Defense attorney Robert Cole rejected this plea offer on Harrell’s behalf.
Harrell’s trial was scheduled for two days starting on Sept. 23 before Judge Alan C. Lazerow.
According to previous coverage, Cole claimed his client was the victim of an attempted robbery at a gas station and suffered gunshot wounds to his neck and calf during the incident.
