The Baltimore Police Department arrested a 24-year-old woman for a homicide in the afternoon on Oct. 4, 2021.
According to a news release, officers were called to the 200 block of North Eutaw Street at approximately 2:57 p.m. for reports of shots being fired, where they found 33-year-old Whitney Purnell suffering from a gunshot wound.
The medics took the victim to an area hospital, where she died 10 days later.
On Oct. 12, 2021 the suspect assaulted the victim and the women were engaged in a physical altercation during the time of shooting, police said.
The suspect was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter along with first-degree assault.
