The suspect in an April 2023 shooting accepted a plea deal before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana M. Middleton on June 26.
Kyre Redd-Harris, 25, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, discharging a firearm inside Baltimore City, carrying a handgun within 100 yards of the public and illegal possession of ammunition.
Under the plea deal, Redd-Harris, who was represented by Augustine Okeke, will serve two concurrent sentences of 25 years, suspending all but five years without the possibility of parole, for first-degree assault and firearm use in a felony violent crime. Additionally, Redd-Harris will serve five years of supervised probation after his sentence and must stay away from the victim and the victim’s girlfriend during that time.
According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, during a drug transaction behind a Checkers restaurant on the 6600 block of Reisterstown Road on April 25, 2023, Redd-Harris allegedly entered the victim’s vehicle and shot the victim.
