19-Year-Old Defendant’s Trial Rescheduled Due to Ill Attorney

On June 26, a defendant was sent from trial to reception court and a new trial date was set.

Kendrick Kendell Barksdale and his attorney, Andrea Jaskulsky, appeared to begin his attempted murder trial on Monday. Due to the prosecutor assigned to the case becoming ill, they were sent to reception court to pick a new trial date.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled the new trial date for Aug. 23 and set the trial to appear before Judge Charles H. Dorsey.

Barksdale, along with his co- defendant, Leonidas Solanos-Campos, are accused of shooting a man on the 1000 block of Rodman Way on Sept. 10, 2022. The victim alleged that the two men pulled up to him while he waited in his car in a parking lot and shot him following a dispute.

Barksdale is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, attempted first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, loaded handgun on person, conspiracy to have a loaded handgun on person, having a loaded handgun on person, conspiracy to wear or carry a handgun, loaded handgun in vehicle, conspiracy to have a loaded handgun in vehicle, handgun in vehicle, handgun in vehicle on a public road and discharging firearms.
