Defendant Quanshay Timmons and her defense attorney, Jason Rodriguez, rejected the prosecution’s plea offer and scheduled her next trial date.
Timmons, 27, is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury and child abuse resulting in the death of a child under 18 years of age in connection to a Nov. 15, 2021, incident.
The Sept. 25 hearing was presided over by Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
The assistant state’s attorney offered Timmons a plea of life, suspending all but 20 years with five years of supervised probation for first-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury.
When the judge asked the defendant if she rejected the offer, the defendant became conflicted. Judge Phinn told her to discuss it over with the defense attorney.
After discussing it, the defendant rejected the offer.
Judge Phinn set Feb. 28, 2024, for Timmon’s trial before Baltimore City Circuit Judge Yvette M. Bryant. The trial is expected to last for five days.
