Counsel gave opening statements and the victims testified in the jury trial of attempted murder defendant Antonio Freeman before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Cynthia H. Jones on March 4.
Freeman, 37, faces a total of 13 charges, including two counts each of attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm use in a felony or violent crime, as well as one count of reckless endangerment and related firearm charges in connection to an Aug. 5, 2024 incident in which he allegedly opened fire at two women.
According to charging documents, officers responded to the 1400 block of Kenhill Avenue for a report of a shooting. The victims later informed police that someone opened fire at them in front of a residence in the 2900 block of East Hoffman Street.
Both victims testified about their ordeal.
One stated she was standing in front of her car when a person identified as Freeman approached her and started shooting. Before he produced his firearm, she said she heard him say, “I’m sick of this b**ch, I’m about to blow her up.”
The second victim emotionally testified that children were present inside the residence during the incident.
The trial continues.
