West Mulberry Street Defendant Guilty of Manslaughter, Firearms Charges

On Nov. 15, defendant Dominic Hicks and his attorney Michael Cooper appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer for a verdict in a homicide case.

Hicks, 38, was charged with second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction and having a handgun on his person in connection to the death of 31-year-old Lattimore Thompson.

The jury found Hicks not guilty of second-degree murder but convicted him on the lesser offense of voluntary manslaughter.

The evidence at trial included video footage of the Dec. 29, 2022 shooting, allegedly showing Thompson punch Hicks, who then fired two shots, one of which hit and killed Thompson which the defense argued was in self-defense.

Hicks will return to court for sentencing on March 5, 2024.
