West Baltimore Fatal Double Shooting Case Dismissed

The trial of a man accused of fatally shooting victim Cordy Shaw, 34, and injuring another woman was dismissed Friday morning, Feb. 25, before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan C. Lazerow.

According to charging documents, on the morning of July 27, 2023 Freddie Pernel Pritchett, 27, was seen in video footage following Shaw into his residence on the 1600 block of Delano Court. Additional footage reportedly showed Pritchett leaving the residence after the shooting with a firearm in his right hand. Witnesses identified Pritchett as the person said to be the suspect.

Pritchett initially faced seven charges, including first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault and four gun violations for his alleged involvement in the double shooting.

Baltimore Witness could not confirm the reason for the dismissal, but court documents showed defense attorney Michael Tomko filing a motion for dismissal in September 2025, citing illegally obtained evidence and in appropriately suggestive methods in identifying Pritchett as the suspect.
