On May 21, the prosecution presented surveillance footage and pictures of two homicide defendants’ license plates as they fled a Royal Farms location on May 26, 2024, following an incident that led to the death of 39-year-old Marcus Brown.
Khaliel Strong-Council, 24, a resident of North Carolina, faces six charges, including first-degree murder and assault, robbery, and related conspiracy charges. He was allegedly visiting Jaylen Bronner, his cousin and co-defendant in the case, to celebrate his own birthday.
While Strong-Council was inside of Royal Farms, located on the 1500 block of Russell Street, Brown sat on a curb, approached Bronner’s vehicle, and attempted to sit inside of the vehicle.
Footage shows Bronner and the victim exiting the vehicle before Bronner begins stomping the victim’s head. After exiting the Royal Farms location, Strong-Council is seen looking at the victim’s body, and walking back to his own vehicle twice.
Both Strong-Council and Bronner drove away in their own vehicles. A witness summoned by the prosecution alleged they then went to a casino, where cameras captured their license plates.
Baltimore City Circuit Judge Michael Anthony DiPietro presided over the hearing.
