Baltimore Man Found Shot on Hollins Street

The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the evening of Sept. 1.

According to a news release, officers were in the area responding to a call for service when they heard gunfire around 10:27 p.m. Moments later, police dispatch notified officers that there was a Shot Spotter alert for gunfire in the 2500 block of McHenry Street.

Officers canvassed the area and located 28-year-old Kahlil Akins suffering from gunshot wounds on the 2500 block of Hollins Street. 

The victim was transported by ambulance to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with life threatening injuries, where he died shortly after arrival.

Homicide investigators were summoned and assumed control over the investigation.  Anyone that has information about this incident is urged to contact detectives at (410)396-2100.
