Two separate cases for alleged murderers were not called during reception court on Sept. 22 at Baltimore City Circuit Court, despite being scheduled on the docket.
Baltimore resident Kamon Smith, 43, was scheduled to have his case heard before Judge Melissa M. Phinn on Wednesday; however, the case was never called.
Smith is charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
A hearing is currently scheduled for January 20, 2022, according to the Maryland Judiciary website, and no defense attorney was listed.
Another Baltimore resident, Brandon Anton Lee, was also scheduled for reception court but went unheard.
The 36-year-old is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endagenerment, firearm use in a violent crime, having a handgun on his person, firing a gun within the city, illegal possession of ammunition, firearm possession with a felony conviction, and three charges of illegal possession of a regulated firearm.
He is represented by Anne Stewart-Hill and no hearings are currently scheduled for Lee’s case, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
