The Baltimore City Circuit Court neared resolution in two attempted murder cases during postponement court on May 13, while delaying yet another murder case to late summer.

The case against a 19 year old defendant was the first to be heard. The defendant faces nearly three dozen charges involving first- and second-degree attempted murder, assault and discharging a firearm in a shooting that occurred in July 2020.

Defense attorney Michael Tomko and a prosecutor discussed a guilty plea of attempted first-degree murder for 50 years, suspending all but 12 years; use of a firearm in a violent crime for five years without parole that will run concurrently; followed by supervised probation and a stay-away upon defendant’s release.

The offer was not yet relayed to the defendant as of Thursday afternoon, but Tomko said he believes it will be accepted. A trial was set for June 17 should the guilty plea be rejected.

Another case involving attempted murder has reached a guilty plea. A 29 year old is expected to plead guilty to one count of attempted first-degree murder for an 18-year sentence and one count of firearm use in a violent crime for 18 years and 5 years without parole that will run concurrently.

Allen’s originally faced two dozen charges, ranging from attempted first- and second-degree murder to multiple firearm charges. His guilty plea is scheduled for June 24.

A homicide trial was also postponed. Kadeem Booker, 31, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiring to first-degree murder and first-degree murder accessory after the fact in January 2020 in connection to a shooting in October 2019.

Booker’s case is currently being reassigned as he awaits a trial date of Aug. 23.

According to WMAR Baltimore, Booker allegedly shot a 26-year-old man around 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 24, 2020, in the 1800 block of Westwood Avenue. The man later died from multiple gunshot wounds.
