On July 15, homicide defendant Sahiou Kargbo did not receive a plea offer from prosecutors due to the defense’s motion to transfer his charges to a juvenile criminal court. The request is still being processed.

Kargbo is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, having a handgun on his person and possession of a firearm as a minor  in connection to an incident that occured on Jan. 25.

Kargbo was represented by defense attorney Todd Oppenheim. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn presided over the hearing.

According to Fox 45, officers responded to a shooting on Walker Avenue just west of Loch Raven Boulevard around 2:43 p.m. They found a male victim in a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Kargbo’s trial has been scheduled for Aug.24. It is expected to last for 7-10 days.
