A 47-year-old man accused of shooting a victim with a BB gun earlier this year had his trial date postponed on Dec. 14.

Nadeem Tajdin, 49, an Owings Mills resident, was initially scheduled for trial on Thursday before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey M. Geller. The case was postponed in Judge Melissa M. Phinn’s reception court, where Rodney Gray entered his appearance as Tajdin’s new defense counsel.

The defendant, who was previously represented by attorney Robert Cohen, is scheduled to return to reception court on Jan. 11, 2024.

On March 6, a woman reported that her granddaughter had been shot with a BB gun outside Mike Corner Store at 3730 Edmondson Avenue, court documents state. The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) identified Tajdin through a photo array.

Police later found three BB fragments at the scene as well as city video surveillance footage that showed the defendant allegedly point the BB gun at the victim, shoot her and then reload.

Tajdin is currently charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of first and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony or violent crime and illegal possession of a firearm and single counts of firing a gun in Baltimore City, having an unregistered rifle/shotgun and illegal possession of ammo.
