Proceedings were postponed on March 5 for 29-year-old Daeshaun Tyreke Clark given the absence of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana M. Middleton, who was scheduled to preside over his case.
Clark is one of three men charged in connection to the Federal Hill killing of 19-year-old Cameran Holt, who was shot in the back of her neck during an early morning shootout on Oct. 27, 2024.
According to court documents, Holt, a bystander, was shot in a crossfire. The charges state that a dispute in a parking lot led three co-defendants to open fire at the driver of a purple Dodge Challenger, and that Holt was sitting in her own vehicle nearby. She succumbed to her injuries on Nov. 6, 2024, after nearly two weeks on life support.
For his alleged involvement, Clark faces charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment, as well as multiple felony firearm offenses.
One of Clark’s co-defendants, 21-year old Alexis Cancel-Soto, was convicted last September on multiple counts for his involvement in the shooting, including first-degree murder. Cancel-Soto has yet to face sentencing.
Clark’s other co-defendant, 30-year old Devontaye Richardson, was acquitted last November of murder, gun and conspiracy charges, but convicted of reckless endangerment. For his involvement in the shooting, Richardson was sentenced to serve five years, suspending all but 18 months.
Clark, who is represented by defense attorney Jerry Rodriguez, has yet to receive a new date for trial.
